Your doctoral study
As part of your doctoral studies, you will attend Researcher Development sessions, available live and online. These will introduce you to different methodologies, prepare you to become a successful researcher and support you in writing and disseminating the outcomes of your research. You will also attend research seminars and have the opportunity to connect with the Centre for Education Research and Scholarship (CERS) and our SIGs (Special Interest Groups).
You will have access to a state-of-the-art library and to a recently refurbished doctoral researcher study space. You will be joining a community of doctoral students in the Faculty and University, working across different disciplines, and have the opportunity to join our active research community and a range of initiatives that will help you to make the most of your doctoral studies.
Application process
Your application process starts at this page https://www.mdx.ac.uk/study-with-us/postgraduate/apply-for-research-degrees
We consider two points of entry for the programme, September and January. The process requires the submission of an application, a first review from our team, possible revisions asked to the proposal and an interview to determine whether this programme is right for you.
All this takes time, so we suggest you apply with at least three months in advance. We run post-graduate researchers open evenings on campus and online, where you have the chance to talk directly to the members of the staff. For general information about the programme or the application process you can contact Dr Leena Robertson or Prof Carol Costley, co-coordinators of Doctoral Programmes
