MA Higher Education Open Session

Philosophy and history of Higher education (Professor Paul Gibbs)

Date & time: 14th march 2018, 5.30-6.30pm

Location: C207, College Building, Middlesex University, London

Higher education is changing, expanding and becoming more complex.  The sector is receiving high profile publicity which swings from the importance of its contribution to our national civic and economic health to concerns about how it runs itself.  Our new Minster of Higher Education may well prove to be outspoken on many issues including another comprehensive review of higher education funding

It is an exciting time for all of those with an interest in higher education and the new MA Higher Education will offer insights from experts on the key issues and opportunities for debate and research into them.  The MA Higher Education is intended for those interested in the study of Higher Education as its own field of study.

The programme includes a comprehensive range of modules which reflects the changing landscape of Higher Education. The new programme is rich in opportunities to engage in studies of pedagogical practices, international perspectives and many more topics which will be explored with you when we meet

To help you decide if this programme is for you we are offering four taster sessions of 30 minutes presentations followed by a discussion on the topic and on the programme.  The free sessions are:

  • 14 March – Philosophy and history of higher education, Professor Paul Gibbs
  • 21 March – Values in higher education, Professor Jon Nixon
