You are invited to join this seminar which will launch the Childhood & Society Seminar series 2022-2023. The C&SSIGN promotes debate on practices and theories shaping education, welfare and lives-lived by children in contemporary societies, it covers a broad spectrum of topics, including:
- theories of childhood;
- children’s everyday lives at home, school and in communities;
- children’s engagements with play, art and digital technology; and
- cultures of childhood, rights and participation;
In 2022-2023 the series will address Childhood/s of the Anthropocene, with a specific concern to explore the potential for eco-pedagogiesand difficult dialogues to open up ways to conceptualise and reimagine contemporary childhood. This introductory seminar will provide insights and an overview of what the series sets out to explore.
